Chris is an Irish actor and screenwriter based in London. He was born in Derry, Northern Ireland, the setting for his first feature film, THE PILGRIMAGE, which will be produced by Michael Fassbender, Conor McCaughan and Daniel Emmerson at DMC Film.
Chris’s first feature length screen adaptation, LITTLE LADY, was broadcast in Christmas 2012 in Europe and gained a TV audience of over 12 million viewers. It was the most watched show on Italian television on Christmas Day 2012, beating TOY STORY 3 in the Christmas TV ratings battle, and taking the number 1 spot with 4.74 million viewers.
He has developed projects for Dream Works, Film 4, BBC Films and Pathe and has worked closely with Oscar-winning screenwriter Simon Beaufoy (SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE) on a number of projects including the environmental thriller BURN UP, the screen adaptation of Steven Hall’s cult novel THE RAW SHARK TEXTS, and the adaptation of Terry Pratchett’s Bromeliad Trilogy as the animated Dream Works feature film TRUCKERS.
His insights into character, plot and structure are always deeply considered, sensitive and invariably spot on. Chris has the ability to create ‘break-through’ thinking when the rest of us are stuck, which suggests a pure writer’s mind – and a tenacious one at that. I am deeply indebted to him personally for the help he has given me on a number of my own scripts.
